WELCOME TO THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NURSES FOR CONTRACEPTION AND SEXUAL HEALTH
Membership is open to:
- all registered nurses, midwives and health visitors who hold a recognised family planning qualification
- all registered nurses and other health professionals whose work encompasses contraception and sexual heath
and provides:
- Representation of members interests by a professional body.
- Opportunity to attend National Meeting(s) each year.
- Invitation to attend local NANCSH Family Planning Meetings/Update sessions.
- Regular Newsletters
- Reduced subscription rate to the Journal of Family Planning and Reproductive Healthcare
- Reduction in membership fee of the Medical Defence Union.
- Educational Sponsorship up to a sum of £250.
- Preferential rates to GUNA symposia
EDUCATIONAL SPONSORSHIP
..of up to £250 each year is available to all members of NANCSH for the purpose of advancing their education in the field of contraception and sexual health. For 2008, your NANCSH Directors have agreed to sponsor 2 places at our Symposium, plus a further 2 placesfor nurses who are currently studying a recognised Contraception and exual Health Module - let your students know about this opportunity to attend one of the higjhlights of the Conference year!

NANCSH/DURBIN SEXUAL HEALTH NURSE OF THE YEAR 2008

We have extended to closing date to give you greater opportunity to enter for this award
CRITERIA
The applicant must be a member of NANCSH. If a group of nurses apply, at least one of the group must be a NANCSH member.
A prize of £1000 will be awarded to the nurse or group of nurses who have
been judged to have made the most valuable contribution to patient care within the
contraception and sexual health field. The work must have been
carried out in the last 18 months, be innovative, original and must demonstrate accepted good practice. The
submitted piece of work must not be in receipt of an award from another source, and
if successful in winning the Durbin/NANCSH prize, cannot be submitted for another
award.
APPLICATION
A 500 word typed description of your work to accompany your completed
application form. The application form must be signed by your manager confirming that
you have been actively involved in the
work submitted.
Closing date has been extended to 31st August 2008.
The annual DURBIN/NANCSH SEXUAL HEALTH NURSE OF THE YEAR AWARD is awarded to a nurse working in the field of contraception and sexual health, who has made a significant contribution within the specialty. There is a prize of £1000 plus a prestigious trophy.
